According to WHO statistics, cancer is more than twice as frequent in modern societies as the global average. It is vital that people facing diagnosis and clinical treatment support their own recovery with mental and psychological preparation.
The goal of the Canossa Mission is to provide mental-health support for this journey.
The Mission is named after Canossa, a cancer-survivor artist. Years of Canossa-like hardship and 145 hospital days between life and death preceded the writing and composing. His psycho-oncologist suggested therapeutic writing to process the trauma after cancer treatment.
This recognition created the Canossa Mission and the Canossa Therapy Kit, distributed on a sterilizable stainless-steel USB 3.0 drive. Promotional videos, social channels and this website were created through voluntary work by friends and supporters.
Everyone participating in the Canossa Mission benefits:
- Buyers receive cathartic works in book and music form while 10% of the price supports an important social-health cause.
- People in crisis and their relatives receive free help for more effective coping.
- The Canossa Team creates new language versions, multimedia applications and a staged version of the uplifting musical work.
“It is good to give when asked, but it is better to give unasked, through understanding.”
Kahlil Gibran
